When all the stars aligned….

Followers of my Instagram will know that Mr B and I recently celebrated our one year anniversary of getting engaged. It was the happiest of days which whizzed by in a blur of love, smiles and seriously amazing food thanks to Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons.  However over the last year that initial excitement and euphoria of getting engaged has become encompassed by the inevitable onslaught of Pinterest fuelled colour schemes, dress browsing and table planning. With less than 5 months to go until our big day I’m definitely feeling the pressure of the ‘finer details’ of the day and have spent an inordinate amount of time recently browsing ‘Easter themed’ table favours and falling down a rabbit hole of wedding planning blog posts.

It was perfect timing therefore when the Night Sky Poster company got in touch to see if I would like to design a personalised star map of the night sky on a memorable date. Of course I choose our engagement date, October 28th 2017, as it seemed a lovely way to capture that day and have a visual memory in our home to remind us forever. Whilst I can’t wait to have mementos and pictures from the big day itself, I think having something which captures the love and excitement of getting engaged is just as special. And the fact that it’s star themed…. well that was the cherry on the top given my love of anything star related.

Ordering our poster was incredibly easy, you fill in the location of the memorable date and the date in question (this can be past or future making them the perfect wedding gifts). You can then personalise the text underneath with something meaningful to you. We went with my favourite quote ‘always believe something wonderful is about to IMG_4746happen….’ (unbeknownst to me a CoCo Chanel quote, lover of lipstick and the eternal optimist – very fitting!). A lovely friend gave me this wooden star with this quote on it long before I met Mr B and during my period of disastrous online dates (there were many…) this used to pick me up when I felt like throwing the proverbial towel in!

You can then choose the colour of the night sky background, with a choice of 5 colours, including a gorgeous fuchsia pink if you fancy adding a pop of colour to your home! We went for a neutral grey blue sky and a white background. Click create and a star map of how the night sky looked (or will look) on your chosen date appears! Not being astronomically minded I won’t try to explain how this is worked out but the website gives more details…..

The delivery was super speedy, I ordered our print on a Friday evening and it was delivered on Monday and we couldn’t be happier with it (the quick delivery makes it perfect for any last minute gift emergencies!). It’s A2 size so will fit in any standard poster frame and is printed on high quality paper which gives it a lovely finish. It’s the perfect way to capture a significant moment or date in time and I love that, due to the personalisation of the location and date, everyone’s star map will be unique to them. With less than 6 weeks until Christmas (eek!) this could be the perfect present idea for someone special in your lives and is a definite contender for those awkward ‘what to get someone who has everything’ gift ideas.

If you fancy winning one of these beautiful posters then head over to my Instagram page where I’m currently running a competition for one follower to win their own personalised print of the night sky and capture a moment in time forever.
